Coronavirus Update (COVID-19)
We understand our customers will have lots of questions and challenges in these uncertain times. As a business we aim to minimise disruptions as far as possible but to prioritise the safety of our staff and customers.
We will continue to follow the government’s advice, remain open and deliver products using our own lorry and external couriers. We know you will join us in vigilantly taking the following precautions:
1. Staff and customers have access to hand washing facilities and are requested to wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
2. Please cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze and put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards.
3. Staff and customers to keep a distance of 2 meters (3 steps) from each other.
4. If you are collecting orders, please phone ahead so we can prepare your order beforehand. This helps us all follow government advice with social distancing.
5. Please follow the latest government advice around self-isolation.
6. Sales meetings will be on the phone with any exceptional meetings at retailers premises by appointment only.

Do you sell directly to the public?
No, we are a distributor, but we will happily pass on details of your nearest retailer.
Where can I see your products?
If you contact us by email or phone we will direct you to your nearest retailer. All our brochures are available on our website.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday 08.30 – 17.30 (closed over lunch from 13.00-13.30)
What happened to Timber & Tile Trade Ltd?
Nothing has changed apart from the trading name of the company which is now T&T Distributors
Do you sell Whirlines or ladders?
No. We no longer manufacture these items and have no parts for them.
Where are you located?
We are based on the Springhill Road, Carnbane Industrial Estate, Newry. BT35 6EF. Opposite Ross Thompsons and across the road from Surefreight.
Can I open a trade account?
Certainly, we’re able to supply any genuine fireplace retailer or hardware shop across Ireland. Please call us on the number at the bottom of this page and we’ll send across the necessary forms.
Distribution
Do you deliver?
Yes. We deliver throughout Northern Ireland with our own lorry once a week. We can also arrange next day delivery through an external distribution company. We also use an external distribution company to deliver daily throughout Republic Ireland.
Is there a minimum order quantity to qualify for free delivery?
Yes, please contact us as this will change based on your location

Is an open fire or a stove more efficient?
A stove is more efficient with ratings often around 80% where as an open fire can only get up to about 15% efficiency
Can I install my own stove?
No.
Do you know of any local stove installers?
Your local stove retailer will arrange this for you or be able to give you details of a suitably competent fitter.

Do I need to line my chimney?
Nearly always yes and we always recommend it. Occasion may arise were it is possible not to line the chimney as building regulations do not insist that you fit one. If all building regulations are followed, the stove draws sufficiently, the chimney is proven to be sound by passing a smoke test, if the diameter of the flue is suitable for the stove, a connection to the chimney can be made securely to pass regulations and the flue can be swept then you do not have to fit a liner. We would however always recommend to line your chimney. As stoves have become more efficient the smaller amounts of hot air being expelled up the chimney need all the help they can get. When smoke fails to rise well it deposits tar and condensation in the flue which can cause damage to brick flues and eventually seep through mortar into the house (showing up as stains and near impossible to remove). This build up in the chimney also makes unlined chimneys more susceptible to chimney fires. If the smoke slows down too much when exiting the flue then it can back up and result in spillage via the air intakes of the stove or stove doors during refuelling.
What diameter of liner should I use?
You should always use a minimum of a 6” liner unless (see below) Building regulations only permit the use of a 5” liner if :
– you plan to burn wood and the stove has a 5” collar and has DEFRA approval for use in a Smoke .Exempt area
-you plan to burn smokeless fuel and the stove manufacturer doesn’t advise otherwise.
Can I step down in size with my liner?
No, this goes against building regulations. Never step down in size on your flue route as they can cause a backup of smoke eventually spilling from the stove.
What is the distance to combustibles for stoves?
All stoves are different. Please refer to the product instruction manual.
